Education of Spirit, Mind, and Body

The Saint Ann School’s religion curriculum for grades Pre-K through 8 is grounded in the basic truths of the faith presented in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The religion curriculum strives to enable our students to develop a personal relationship with God. Through the study of the Catholic faith, students are prepared to celebrate God’s love, proclaim God’s message, and live in accord with this message.

The goals for our program enable our students to become life-long learners who are knowledgeable about their faith and are able to integrate their faith and traditions into their everyday life. Students read, interpret, and apply scripture to their lives and participate in the sacramental life of the Church. Through daily study, our students exercise responsible stewardship and are taught to be of service to others by following the example of Jesus Christ.

Our students participate in the worship of the faith community and use a variety of prayer forms to enrich personal and communal spirituality. Students develop an understanding and appreciation of their Catholic heritage which helps them to make moral decisions consistent with the teachings of our Church. Some examples include weekly Mass, the Sacrament of reconciliation, the Living Stations of the Cross, and the celebration of the Seder meal. Students learn to acknowledge and accept responsibility for their actions and to embrace all people as brothers and sisters of God.
